 Harvest and Processing:Collect roots in autumn before efflorescence, usually in the third or fourth year of cultivation; wash clean; separate axial roots, lateral roots from rhizomes; dry under sun until half-dry; knead repeatedly; remove cork.

 Habitat: In China, notoginseng is mainly grown in the provinces Yunnan, Guangxi, etc. The root is harvested in autumn before flowering or after the seed has ripened, then dried in the sun for use when raw. Notoginseng origins specialy from China.

 Notoginseng is a survived plant origined from ancient tropical area of tertiary period,250,000,000 years before.It required special environmental conditions,warm winter and cool summer,can not bear chilliness and broil,prefer shade and moist,so it only survived and growing at south west of China,altitude 1500~1800 area,north latitude 23.5 strait zone,including WenShan Zhou of Yunnan Province and several other places near to border of Yunnan and GunagXi.According to related classics,history of Sanqi application narly comes to 600 years and cultivation around 500 years.
