 Legend of San qi:

 Ancient years,a young man named Zhang Er got a kind of disease with symptoms of bleeding from mouth and nose,no cure got although treated by many herbalists.

 At one day,a herbalist with surname Tian pass the home of Zhang Er,heard this case,he took out a herb root,grind it into powder and take to Zhang Er,Zhang Er take it with water,sooner or later, bleeding stopped surprisingly.Zhang Er and his family all appreciated very much,and decided to got the seeds of this herb,and the herbalist left the seeds.

 One year later,herb in garden of Zhang Er grows flourishly,It happened the single daughter of local officer got bleeding,as similar as Zhang Er before days,no ways after trying many recipes,so stick some arret on county wall:"Who can cure my daughter's bleeding,husband my daughter.".Got known of this arret,Zhang Er took his herb from home garden,grind it into powder and send to daughter of officer for taken,yet god or devil knows,a hour later,the girl died.This brings catastrophe to Zhang Er,local officer order guard bundled Zhang Er,torture him to say how he dare to poison his daughter to death,Zhang Er tells the truth he knows.Officer got this and notified to catch doctor Tian,and doctor Tian got several days later,and sentenced as murder.The day comes,doctor Tian announce his innocence loudly in air,occasionally a bigger officer pass this county and heard this,ask for details,doctor Tian explains :"This herb has good effects for many kinds of bleeding,yet we have to wait for it growing as old as 3 to 7 years old.The herb Zhang Er applied no more than 1 year,it no remedy use and could not save the girl of course.",and he got the sword then cut a wound on his leg, bleeding at once,then he took the herb, take orally and apply to the cut,bleeding stopped sooner and scab tied,people at present all astonished into no words,officer no words also and relased doctor Tian,to remind people remember this suffering and painful moralism,thus name this herb as "San Qi(3~7)",which means it must be as old as 3 to 7 years before medicinal applying.
