Some Application Explain from Experience and Theory.

Tribulus terrestris Extract Tribulus Saponins Protodioscin photo picture image Tribulus terrestris contains steroidal saponins which may improve sexual desire and enhance erection via the conversion of protodioscine to DHEA. In may also increase in the release of nitric oxide from the endothelium and nitrergic nerve endings.

I should add that my DHT level was very high for a while, and that could have contributed to the short-term effectiveness of the Tribulus. I now have my DHT under control, so the results could be different now.

a high DHT may have been most of the cause.

This looks like it might be a testosterone boost. However, the bigger question is: Why, at 30, did you have a major decreased level of testosterone? If you ate and lived in an optimal manner wrt health and happiness, your testosterone level at 30 should be hardly changed from that of a teenager and you should still be capable of as much energy, alertness, enthusiasm, optimism and romance motivation. Sense of being physically healthy and fit. High on life. as you ever had. As for increased confidence, if anything, at 30 you should have have far more confidence than you did at an earlier age because you know and have accomplished far more by that time. Overconfidence in youth is wrong and misguided arrogance, usually due to not even knowing enough to know what one does not yet know.

If you wish to find out physiologically what has happened and perhaps what the tribulus did and why it quit, then you need to stop taking it for 6 months, get a complete blood test including hormones before you start taking it again, and get other tests done when it is working and then after it stops working.

Difference between Tribulus and DHEA and Androstenedione:

Tribulus Terrestris is being promoted as a testosterone booster. It does not work like DHEA and Androstenedione. However, claims have been made that it enhances testosterone levels by increasing luteinizing hormone (LH) levels. Studies have shown it to do just that. Laboratory animal studies show that it increases sperm productions as well as motility after 30 days of supplementation. Two other studies performed on animals reported increased testosterone production and testicular maturation.

Human studies involving health individuals taking 750 mg/day of Tribulus Terrestris evaluated hormonal responses and revealed LH increased in males from 14.38 ml/U/ml to 24.75 ml/U/ml (a 72% increase). The free testosterone in males went from 60 ng/dl to 84.5 ng/dl (a 41% increase). To help you better understand this, normal blood levels of total testosterone is between 300 and 1,000 ng/dl.

Another study including over 200 male subjects suffering from impotence (quite often due to low testosterone levels) showed that many of the men experienced an increase in LH and testosterone as well as sperm production and motility.
