Grapefruit Seed Extract GSE INCI Name CITRUS GRANDIS SEED EXTRACT EINECS ELINCS No 289-904-6 CAS:90045-43-5 photo picture image Grapefruit seed extract used for many types of external skin conditions from known or unknown causes (fungal, parasites, bacteria, viral, etc). It is effective against fungal infections of the feet, nails and skin.

 It is also an excellent nontoxic spray for everyday burns, cuts, scrapes, insect bites and wounds. It stops infections dead. It is extremely beneficial in the healing process and greatly reduces than chance of reinfection.

 Grapefruit seed extract is a very good facial cleanser for general cleaning of oily skin and is very helpful in fighting acne infections. Simply apply 2-3 drops of GSE to moistened fingertips and gently massage the wetted facial area in circular motions for about a minute, rinsing thoroughly with cool water. Patients often report a tingling sensation of the skin following the treatment which is indicative of the cleansing action properties of the grapefruit seed extract.

 Acne can be caused by bacterial infections. A few drops of GSE added to your regular liquid cleanser makes a superior solution. GSE reduces bacterial growth and its astringent nature dries up glandular secretions reducing the opportunity for bacteria to breed. It also helps open pores keeping them clean and unclogged thus reducing blackhead and pimple formation!

 Physicians have observed that the herpes simplex virus becomes inactive just ten minutes after the application of grapefruit seed extract.

 Dandruff is most often caused by an inflammatory response to an overgrowth of scalp fungus which causes itching and scaling. When this is the case, good results may be obtained by adding a few drops of GSE to your regular shampoo, leave on for 3~5 minutes.

 It is used against head lice and mites (when no other remedy will work). Grapefruit seed extract is also nontoxic as opposed to over the counter ineffective remedies that are very toxic.

 Grapefruit seed extract is also used to effectively remove warts, corns and other nondescript skin abnormalities.

 Acne and Pimples:Thoroughly moisten face with warm or cool water. With hands still wet, apply a (few) drops grapefruit seed extract to the fingertips and gently message the facial area with circular motions. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry face. A slight tingling sensation indicates the deep cleaning properties of grapefruit seed extract. You may add (?) drops grapefruit seed extract to your regular liquid cleaner for a superior cleaning solution. Be very careful to not get grapefruit seed extract in your eyes. If you do rinse with warm water for 15 minutes and consult a Physician if Necessary.

 Athletes' Foot:Apply liberally after bathing. Add (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 2-cups water in a spray bottle. Apply 2 times daily for 3 weeks or as required. Also add (?) drops grapefruit seed extract to a small load or (?) drops grapefruit seed extract to a large load of laundry to the last rinse when washing socks or stockings to avoid reinfection. As added protection put (?) drops grapefruit seed extract into wettened palm and work into a lather then rub entire foot. Let dry before putting shoes on.

 Sunshine is also very helpful. Also spray inside of shoes thoroughly. Socks can be soaked in the above solution. You can also moisten feet then put a (few) drops of undiluted grapefruit seed extract on feet and rub in. It is said that freezing your shoes kills athletes foot infection within the shoe?

 Blisters:Apply a (few) drops on the blisters for cleaning purposes. Read more about skin rash blisters.

 Body Wash:Add a (few) drops grapefruit seed extract to a sponge, cloth or special cleaning material such as is sold in health food stores etc. and wash entire body being very careful not to get GSE into the eyes. This will clean and remove scaly skin. If you get grapefruit seed extract into the eyes use plenty of warm or cold water to rinse them out good.

 Burns Superficial:Grapefruit seed extract is very effective for relieving the pain when applied to superficial burns. It can be applied undiluted providing that it does not come into direct contact with the eyes.

 Calluses:(Horny skin) A warm footbath lasting 5-10 minutes with (?) drops grapefruit seed extract per 1/2 gallon water is very helpful in removing the horny skin.

 Chicken Pox, Nettle Rash, Shingles and Hives:(Varicella-Zoster Virus). Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract with 1 tablespoon olive, sesame, almond, avocado or vegetable oil and apply to the skin or mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 1-cup water and spray affected areas, as needed.  Cold Sores:(Herpes Simplex) Physicians have observed that the herpes simplex virus becomes inactive just ten minutes after the application of grapefruit seed extract. Mix a (few) drops grapefruit seed extract with vegetable glycerin (You can find it at health food stores or drug stores), olive, sesame, almond, avocado or vegetable oil.  Corns:Put (1) drop "undiluted" grapefruit seed extract on the corn once or twice a daily. Read more about corns.

 Cracked or Sunburned Lips:Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 1 Tbls. of almond, olive, sesame, avocado or vegetable oil and apply.

 Cuts, Wounds, Scrapes and Burns:Mix (?) teaspoons of grapefruit seed extract in 1-cup water or (?) teaspoon grapefruit seed extract in 1/2-cup water. Use distilled or boiled water. Add this mix to a spray bottle. Spray liberally over the affected area once every few minutes while performing other standard first-aid procedures. A deep wound would require a more dilute mixture to avoid irritation. Applying grapefruit seed extract directly on the burn can effectively eliminate pain from superficial burns. Pain will cease in about 15 minutes. For severe wound or burn see a physician.

 Dandruff and Itchy Scalp:Add (?) drops grapefruit seed extract to itching scalp each shampoo. Mix in hand or on head with shampoo. Message into scalp and leave on for at least 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Note: May be used without shampoo (?) drops grapefruit seed extract per cup water rub into scalp and let dry. A spray bottle would be handy for this!

 Eczema and Dermatitis:A chronic itchy skin disease caused by food or chemical allergies. It usually appears on the inside of the elbow and knees and on the face or wrist. Try to eliminate offending foods or chemicals. Do not wash with soap. Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract with 2 oz. (1/4 cup) olive, sesame, avocado, almond or vegetable oil and rub into affected area twice daily.

 Facial Cleaner:Thoroughly moisten face with warm or cool water. With hands still wet, apply a few drops grapefruit seed extract to the fingertips and gently message the facial area with circular motions. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry face. A slight tingling sensation indicates the deep cleaning properties of GSE. Always dilute.

 First Aid:Abrasions and scratches. Mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract in 1 Tbls water. Apply the mixture 2 times daily directly to the affected area of skin. Do not use full strength on skin. For large areas mix (?) drops grapefruit seed extract per cup distilled or (boiled and cooled water) and spray on affected areas.

 Head Lice:Add (?) GSE to (?) Shampoo. For thick or long hair double recipe). Thoroughly wet hair and pat dry so no water is dripping from hair. Mix well and spread evenly over the entire scalp and hair. Note: For children (when first applying mixture) have them hold a folded towel on forehead to keep excess extract out of eyes. After applying wipe off any excess mixture and cover the hair with plastic (to keep extract confined to the head). Let extract take effect for 30 minutes. Repeat after 3 days. Caution: If Grapefruit Seed Extract gets in to the eyes, wash them out immediately with plenty of water (warm if possible). Consult a Physician if Necessary.

 Impetigo:A skin infection usually affecting children. An itchy rash-like outbreak distinguished by a clear to yellow pus-like discharge that keeps the area wet. Either the Streptococcus or the Staphylococcus bacteria usually cause it. Mix (?) tsp. Grapefruit seed extract to 3 oz. water and spray several times daily.

 Excellent results have been reported by those who have added (?) tsp. Calendula Officianlis (Marigold) to the solution. Recurrent episodes of impetigo can be avoided by careful attention to hygiene. (?) tsp of grapefruit seed extract added to the wash cycle will help to decontaminate towels, linens etc. Allow them time to soak.
