Systemic absorption.
Anti-inflammatory.
Against peptic ulcer and dyspepsia.
Anti-diabetic activity.
Gastric and duodenal anti-ulcer activity.
Anti-hepatotoxic activity/Hepato protective activity.
Anti-fungal activity.
Properties:
Treats pains in the chest, hypochondria (extreme depression) and abdomen due to qi stagnation and blood stasis.
Treats coma due to a febrile disease and mental disorder with epilepsy due to stagnation of phlegm.
Treats damp-heat syndromes of the liver and gall-bladder.
Treats bleeding syndromes due to adverse-rising of qi and fire, such as hematemesis (vomiting of blood), epistaxis (nosebleed) and retrograde menstruation.
Dosage: 6-12 g. Decoct or grind into powder for oral administration.Deflatulance: Taken 0.5-1.0 g four times a day after meals and at bedtime.
Safety and Toxicity:
Tumeric powder produced no acute toxicity in mice when given at the dose of 10g/kg body weight.LD50 of ethanolic extract in mice was more than 15g/kg either by p.o., s.c. or i.p. administration.
