Infusion:1 heaped teaspoon per 1/4 litre of boiling water, infused for a short time. Only 2 cups a day are taken, 1 cup in the morning on an empty stomach, 1 cup in the evening, half an hour before a meal.

Willowherb can be taken as a tea. To make the infusion pour boiling water over 1.5-2 grams (1 teaspoon = 0.8 grams) of finely chopped willowherb, steep for 10 minutes, then strain.

Brewing Time: Infusions from flowers, leaves or plants can be made into tea using boiling water. Infuse for approx.10 minutes, cover during infusion to keep the aroma inside. Infusions from the roots, wood or bark should be added to cold water and left to soak for 12 hours. The infusion is then slowly heated for approx. 10 minutes, then strained. Always sip infusions slowly. Always seek medical advice from a qualified herbal practioner or doctor before using medicinal herbs.

Interactions: Epilobium interferes with the metabolism of the hormone progesterone and may interact with oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy regimens.

Cautions: The effects of Epilobium have not been well studied, so the safety of this herb for pregnant or lactating women has not been established. Epilobium contains substances that affect the production of oestrogen in the body, so this herb should be avoided by pregnant or lactating females.
