As a general guideline, your daily dose could be:
Infusion: Pour a cup of boiling water onto l teaspoonful of the ripe berries and leave to infuse for l0-l5 minutes. This should be drunk three times a day.
Tincture: take 1 ml of the tincture three times a day.
Extract: 175 mg-400mg (standardized extract) daily.Standardized to contain 0.5~0.6% agusides.Most Common Dosage:400mg (standardized extract) daily.
Standardization: The most current available medical and scientific literature indicates that this dietary supplement should be standardized to 0.5% agnuside and 0.6% aucubin per dose.
Clinical research shows that vitex may start working to treat imbalances after about 10 days, but for full benefit it should be taken up to 6 months or longer. With PMS, a positive result may be felt by the second menstruation, but permanent improvement may take up to a year or longer.
Chasteberry can be taken daily for up to 18 continuous months, unless pregnancy occurs. Vitex is usually taken in the morning as a single daily dose.
