Studies on the processing of Pyritum from different source were conducted by means of indentical technological procedure using total sulphur, S,FeS2 and Fe7S8 as indexes. The results showed considerable differences in compositions of the processed products.

Optimum conditions for processing have been chosen and a procedure has been proposed for the recovery of the poisonous matter SO2 which is then transformed into a beneficial material.
