How much notopterygium should I take?
3-9grams,(boiled in water for oral use)decocted in water for an oral dose. The recommended dosage of notopterygium root is 6-12 grams, usually decocted in water. Some practitioners may recommend a slightly smaller dose (3-10 grams), ingested in pills or as powder.
Precautions:
Deficiency syndromes of qi and blood; dry throat,Because this herb has lifting and disper- sing actions and is warm and dry in nature, it is liable to cause impairment to both yin and blood, and therefore, for deficiency syn- dromes of qi and blood, and for affection by exopa- thogens with dryness of the throat,it should be avoided.
Strong smell, excessive consumption, habitation formed after vomiting, weakness, spleen and stomach inappropriate clothing.Yin headache cautiously uses.
