 3. Spasm effect: This herb contains bergaptene, 8-Methoxypsoralen, isoimperatorin B,these components shows obvious spasm effects on rabbit ileum. Isoimperatorin can increase the rabbits palais contractility and the tension of earthworms muscle. Scopoletin shows spasm effects in vivo or in vitro rat uterine cramps induced byestrogen or barium chloride, its ED50 value 0.09mg/kg.

 4. Cardiovascular effects: This herb contains isoimperatorin and Marmesin lowering blood pressure of cats, 50 mg/kg decreased arterial blood pressure 50% of 1.5 hours time. Isoimperatorin and N-vinyl pyrrolidone copolymer can extend the cat blood pressure period length of 5-10 times,heart contraction of isolated Frog reduced.

 5. Antibacterial effect: Baizhi decoction shows inhibition effects on E. coli, Shigella, Proteus, Salmonella typhi and paratyphoid bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Vibrio cholerae,Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The materials contained oxygen imperatorin shows antibacterial activity in vitro test for 11 strains; isoimperatorin in some antibacterial effect,Methoxsalen shows inhibition on mycobecterium tuberculosis H37RV the MIC was 100 mcg/ ml, respectively. Decoction shows certain inhibition effects on pathogenic fungi spores Trichophyton.

 6. Photosensitive role: This herb contains Bergapten, Methoxsalen, isoimperatorin B and other furan-coumarin compounds for the active substances when they enter the body,once sunlight or ultraviolet radiation, the skin can occur by exposure to solar dermatitis, a red, pigmentation, such as thickening of skin. Photosensitive activity to Methoxsalen is the strongest, followed by Bergapten, isoimperatorin B weaker. Photosensitive substances can be used to the treatment of vitiligo.  8. Anti-radiation: Baizhi methanol extract 1g/kg in the X-ray irradiation five minutes before the intraperitoneal injection of mouse skin damage protective effect.

 9. Other effects: a small amount of bai zhi shows exciting effects on animals medullary vasomotor center, respiratory center, the vagus nerve and spinal cord,enabling a rise in blood pressure, pulse rate slows down, breathing deepened, and can cause drooling vomiting, and can lead to the use of intermittent cramps, followed by general paralysis.
